Recipients of the message are being told Aldi is giving away €150 as part of a Christmas giveaway.

The message includes a link to a website that has no connection with Aldi.

"ALERT: There's a hoax €150 Aldi voucher offer circulating through messaging services including WhatsApp," Aldi said on Twitter.

"This offer is FRAUDULENT and CANNOT be redeemed in our stores. Please do not click the link. We're investigating."
