GARDAÍ are ruling out foul play in the death of a 48-year-old man at an apartment in Cobh.

Leo Owens, the son of former Workers’ Party Cobh town councillor Leo Owens Snr, was found dead at an apartment on Harbour Hill in the town. He was discovered by a local person at approximately 5pm yesterday at the bottom of a stairwell inside the property.

The father of one had featured on RTÉ’s Primetime in November in a programme focusing on housing.

He was highlighting issues with his tenancy as part of a campaign on the housing situation in Ireland.
