Visitor restrictions at the Mercy hospital to prevent the spread of the flu
Strict visitor restrictions are in place on visitors to the Mercy Hospital.

The Mercy Hospital has imposed visitor restrictions due to high levels of the influenza virus.

The hospital has seen a surge in the number of patients with flu-like symptoms presenting to the Emergency Department.

Visiting is restricted to all areas of the hospital in the interest of patient safety except to critically ill patients, but no more than two visitors at any one time.

Child patients at the hospital may also receive visitors in St Anne's ward but only parents and grandparents may visit children, with no more than two visitors per bed at any one time.
