Update: The Douglas Road has reopened following this morning's house fire

Several units of the Cork City Fire Brigade have responded to a substantial house fire on the Douglas Road.

Three units from Anglesea Street attended the blaze responded to a call at around 9.50am this morning and have been at the scene for the past hour and a half.

Bus Eireann tweeted to say that the 223, 207, 216 and the 220 routes are all being diverted from Douglas Road to South Douglas Road while the fire is being dealt with.

They later confirmed that road has reopened.

Munster Fire Brigade said there were no reports of any individuals caught in the blaze but information was coming through from the units at the incident intermittently.
