Almost €15k of cannabis seized in West Cork raid
The West Cork Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a raid on Monday in Skibbereen.

Almost €15,000 worth of cannabis was found in a West Cork Garda raid on Monday.

Approximately €14,400 worth of suspected cannabis herb and cannabis resin was seized at a house in Skibbereen and a man in his 40’s was also arrested.

The raid was carried out around 2.30pm in the afternoon by the West Cork Divisional Drugs Unit.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 40s and seized approximately €14,400 worth of suspected cannabis herb and cannabis resin at a house in Skibbereen, Co. Cork on 21st October, 2019.

During the course of the search, Gardaí seized €13,600 worth of suspected cannabis herb and €860 worth of suspected cannabis resin, which will now be sent for analysis.

The arrested individual who was at the scene was brought to Bandon Garda Station. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been released.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
