Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has made another substantial donation of personal protective equipment to a Cork hospital.

The Mercy University Hospital received a shipment of PPE from the fighter last week.

CEO of the Mercy University Hospital Foundation, Mícheál Sheridan, thanked the Notorious fighter on twitter for donating thousands of pieces of PPE to the hospital saying “some very happy porters” had collected the donations.

A further 20,000 gloves, 8,500 masks and 2,000 visors will be making their way to Cork for those in need of the vital equipment.

Meanwhile, the Irish sportsman has called for the relaxation of the current 2km radius restriction on May 5th when the government are expected to make an announcement on restrictions going forward.

“Release the 2km restriction May 5th. Keep enforcement tight on any and all congregated groups. Reppen all businesses that can operate under new safety measures. Which is most. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Only so long our hands can be held before we must go it solo,” he said on social media.
