A man in his 30s is in critical condition after a diving accident at Nohoval Cove in Cork.

Kinsale RNLI, Oysterhaven and Summercove Coastguard and the Shannon R115 helicopter responded to the incident after a concerned member of the public called in the emergency around 2.30pm.

The man, who is 35, was thought to have dived into a rock from quite a height.

The R115 brought the man to Cork Airport, where he was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
