Emergency services responded to a two-car collision on the Bandon Road this evening around 4pm.

The collision occurred outside the Maxol garage.

A spokesperson for the Fire Service said they were initially called out to a car on fire, but on arrival at the scene, the firefighters realised the smoke was from the airbags that went off after a crash.

One woman was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

One unit of the Cork City Fire Brigade attended the collision and they returned home to base by 5pm.

The road was not closed and no diversions were put in place.
