Elderly man killed in farm accident near Cork - Limerick border

AN elderly man has been killed in a farm accident on the Cork-Limerick border.

The man, who was in his 70s, was killed in his farmyard in Kilbehenny, Co Limerick, at around 5pm yesterday evening. 

It is understood the accident involved a gate.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has not been named yet.

A garda spokesman said: "The scene was preserved and the Health and Safety Authority were notified. Investigations are ongoing."
