A swimmer in his 50’s has died after getting into difficulty off the coast of East Cork this afternoon.
The man was reported to the Coast Guard, missing from Caliso Bay in Youghal, just after 4pm.
Youghal RNLI was sent to search for the man, whom they found quickly.
The RNLI volunteers administered first aid and carried out CPR as they brought him to shore, but unfortunately, a doctor pronounced him dead a short while after reaching land.
