3 Degrees Hair Design in Blackpool will be closed for several weeks following a fire in the salon overnight.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire in the commercial premises at 2.47am and two crews, from Ballyvolane and Anglesea St, attended the scene.

The firefighters were there until almost 4.30am, working to bring the blaze under control and make the premises safe.

The business owners reported the damage on their Facebook page in the early hours of the morning, describing themselves as 'heartbroken'.

"We got a call at 3:15 this morning to say the salon was on fire," they added. "We will be closed for the next couple of weeks.

"We are so sorry for any inconvenience and we will keep ye all updated, love all from 3 Degrees."
