A community project in Cork city is highlighted on RTÉ1 series Nationwide next week.

The team check out Northside Community Enterprises, which provides people of all ages with opportunities to develop new skills, opening doors to fresh possibilities in everyday life, in the episode on Friday at 7pm.

For 33 years, the project has partnered with Cork communities to create opportunities for jobs, education and up-skilling for people who are long-term unemployed or otherwise disadvantaged.

This project has become a vital and much-valued part of the communities it serves, as reporter, Marian Malone, has been finding out.

Nationwide that day also highlights Cork’s annual Lifelong Learning Festival, a citywide celebration of learning that has become a beacon for communities across the region.

Its aim is to educate communities and individuals, regardless of age, across a range of different topics and skills.

Reporter Zainab Boladale has been finding out all about it.

The stirring story of a Cork man’s successful business career is told when The Entrepreneurs returns for a new series next week.

Each episode explores three stories of success and resilience from the frontline of Irish business, and Danny Buckley features in the first one on RTÉ1 on Monday at 8.30pm.

His inspirational career journey followed his own ADHD diagnosis.
