Wedding of the Week: Wedding bells for couple who met at Savoy 

Togher couple Shannon Flynn and Daniel Mulcahy first met at the once iconic Savoy nightclub on Patrick Street.

Shannon, originally from the northside, and Daniel, from the Pouladuff Road, were introduced to each other through friends while on a night out.

Love blossomed and, in 2019, the couple got engaged on the beautiful Youghal Strand in East Cork.

Shannon and Daniel were wed earlier this month, on August 4, at the Vienna Woods Hotel in Glanmire, surrounded by their family and friends.

“We were delighted to have all our siblings, neices and nephews, friends and even family home from England and Australia to celebrate with us,” said Shannon.

The couple were married by celebrant Sharon Quigley.

“We had a lovely personal ceremony,” said Shannon.

Singer Niamh O’Connor “sang beautifully “ at the wedding.

The bride wore The Aimee Dress from Wed2Be, while the groom’s tux was from Morleys. “They were fantastic to deal with,”the couple said.

Shannon’s make-up was by Laura Dorgan while her hair was by Hair By Lisa.

Maid of honour was the bride’s twin sister, Shauna, while her bridesmaid was Jenny McCarthy, her sister-in law.

Alan O’Connor was best man while Jonny Duggan was groomsman.

After the ceremony, the couple held a reception for their guests at the Vienna Woods Hotel.

A family friend made the couple’s wedding cake. “It was gorgeous,” they said.

That evening the Ian Hendrick Bandmade sure everyone was on the dancefloor.

The couple’s first dance was to Unconditional by Picture This.

Asked what was the most memorable thing about the day, Shannon said:

“Having my son, Charlie, who’s 10, walk me up the aisle, and having the kids’ audio recording played to their dad before we walked down the aisle.

“Everyone loved it and it brought lots of laughs and tears.”
