Ciara Murphy, from Coachford, and Klara Moylan, from Nenagh in Co Tipperary, first met at a party in June 2023, and said they knew from the very beginning that there was something special between them.

“We became close friends almost instantly. A few weeks later, that friendship quietly turned into something more,” said Ciara.

Ciara, a strength and conditioning coach, and Klara, who works in administration, became engaged less than a year later, with not one, but two proposals.

“We actually had two engagements, because every girl deserves to be proposed to,” laughed Klara, who was first to propose at a weekend away at Inchydoney in West Cork.

Ciara and Klara decided to take double-barrel names and are now Ciara and Klara Murphy Moylan.

“Ciara planned the weekend away and told me to book a nail appointment… sure, I thought that was it and she was going to propose so I bought a ring to be prepared and be able to double propose at the same moment.

"I soon realised Ciara had no plan to propose that weekend, but something in my gut told me to do it anyway as it all felt so perfect,” said Klara.

“We always thought I’d be the one to propose,” recalled Ciara.

“But Klara found the perfect moment to give me that gift first—and it was one of the most special feelings I’ve ever experienced,” she said.

The second proposal came less than two weeks later in Ciara’s gym - a moment which had been in the planning for some time. Ciara had created an Alice In Wonderland-themed surprise for Klara. “I was in tears, to say the least,” said Klara.

The couple were married at a humanist ceremony at the Brehon Hotel in Killarney on May 15, 2025.

“Someone said to us that if they never met us, but attended our ceremony, they would have known us very well by the end of the ceremony and that really resonated with us because it showed just how real, raw and vulnerable we were as we stood there making life-long promises to each other,” the couple said.

Ciara wore an ivory fitted silhouette gown from the ‘Layla Truly Collection’ from Truly Bridal Boutique in Naas. Her hair was by Kim Moynihan from Frankie’s Salon, Cork, and her make-up was by Ruthanna B Crowley.

Klara wore an ivory off-the-shoulder floral fairytale ball gown by Maggie Sottero called ‘Harlem’ from CIRQ Boutique in Naas. Her make-up was by her sister Kayley while her hair was by Jenny Ryan from Nenagh.

The bridal party included Ciara’s bridesmaids; her sister Ursula, and cousin Sharon, and her brother Stephan was bridesman. Klara’s sisters Kayley and Lauren were her bridesmaids, and her brother Mícheál was her bridesman.

Also present were Ciara’s parents, Anne and James Murphy; Klara’s mother Edwina Knight and her dad Mike Moylan.

“We felt so lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support on the day, and every person there was important to us,” the couple said.

The music was performed live by Rena O’Donovan and Aoife Donovan.

After the ceremony, the couple held a reception for their guests at the hotel.

“The staff were absolutely wonderful throughout our wedding planning journey and our wedding day. A special mention to Leah Burke who went above and beyond for us,” the couple said.

The reception was full of fun and surprises. “We had drag queens, a tattoo artist, a 360 cam, a band (The Old Moderns) and then a DJ (DJ Bertie). We also had a surprise video of many clips of us throughout our relationship, our proposal(s), etc,” the couple said.

The couple’s first dance was to This Is How You Fall In Love by Jeremy Zucker & Chelsea Cutler.

The couple had two photographers because “with two brides, you need two of everything to capture every moment”.

Paul David Photography did photos and videography on the day, with Diana Pokusai also on hand for photos. Peter Kingston also took video on the day and captured the couple’s first look.

Asked what was the most memorable part of their day, Klara said: “What stood out more than anything was the genuine happiness on everyone’s faces — it felt like every single person there was radiating love and support. There was this unspoken sense that everyone could truly see how in love Ciara and I are, and they were right there with us, celebrating that.”
