John Creedon meets Cork’s Kabin Crew fo Creedon's Musical Atlas of Ireland, on Sunday, October 20.

In the third episode of this excellent series, Creedon's Musical Atlast of Ireland, Corkman Creedon learns how The Spark has taken the Kabin Crew kids from his home city all over Europe.

John is also joined by Pogues legend Cáit O’Riordan, Horslips, and Kevin Rowland, lead singer of Dexys Midnight Runners, to learn how their Irish identity was crucial to their music. Plus, he recalls the Ballrooms of Romance and learns about the demise of showbands.

Creedon’s Musical Atlas Of Ireland airs on RTÉ1 on Sunday, October 20, at 6.30pm.

The TV appearance is the latest boost to the crew.  Recently Cork’s viral sensation rap group Kabin Crew was longlisted for the 67th Grammy Awards, news described by creative director and founder of the Kabin Studio, Garry McCarthy, as “absolutely crazy”.

The children’s track ‘The Spark’, which they released with The Lisdoonvarna Crew earlier this year, has been confirmed on the award’s ballot and is now in contention for a Grammy in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording and Song Of The Year categories.
