FROM getting engaged in Disney World in Orlando, to walking up the aisle to A Tale As Old As Time, it was a fairytale wedding come true for this Cork couple.
Kim Fleming and Alan Kennedy were married at Our Lady Crowned Church in Mayfield - Kim’s parish - followed by a reception in The Maryborough Hotel.
They feature in this week's Wedding of the Week.
The couple’s grandparents lived doors apart in Mayfield and regularly attended the church.
Both Kim and Alan will be forever grateful to their officiant Rev David Lane, who made their ceremony so personal and very special to both of them and their families.
The ceremony began with a performance by a very close friend of Kim’s family, the talented Con Cronin, who piped Can You Feel The Love Tonight, a Disney classic which he surprised Kim by learning.
The bridal party were serenaded down the aisle to A Tale As Old As Time, which was sung by the very talented Deborah Murphy.
Kim was walked up the aisle by her dad, Peter Fleming.
The church was decorated by To Have And To Hold, Pretty Penny Balloons and Liz & Blaise Croft in Wonderous Weddings.
After the ceremony the pair were whisked off to The Maryborough Hotel where they said “Ellis and her staff could not have done enough” for them and their guests. “The food and service were five star.”
The couple would especially like to thank the entertainers throughout the night, Cork magician Gerard Kearney, Velvin Lamont, and Gavin in Ted Dunne entertainment.
The couple would also like to thank two legends of Cork’s music scene - Mr Pat Dilworth and Mr Pat Fitz and band - who had the place rocking into the early hours.
Kim and Alan would also like to give a special mention to the talented Greg from DGVideo, who captured many beautiful moments throughout the day, and to John of John Sexton Photography
“The pictures speak a thousand words and they will be cherished for the rest of our days,” they said.
The bride wore a dress from Memories Bridal Boutique, Tuckey Street. She said the moment she tried on ‘The One’, herself and her mother Patricia both knew it was it! Alan’s suit was bought from Tom Murphy’s.
The couple said they would do their wedding day “all over again”. It was one of the best days of their lives.
They said they felt “very lucky to have been able to celebrate it with all with nearest and dearest loved ones, especially with our beautiful son, Beau”.
