Comic duo publish graphic novel

Fiona Boniwell, who is set to publish a new graphic novel with Brendan O'Connell.
CORK-based comic creators Brendan O’Connell and Fiona Boniwell are set to publish a new graphic novel.
Called Cerberus’ New Trick, it examines topical themes such as progress for progress’ sake, automation at the expense of humanity, and the importance of representation…
At its heart, it’s a warm story about a little girl with Down syndrome who just wants a dog, and a very big dog (with three heads) who needs a new home…
This is Brendan and Fiona’s second book together. Death’s New Lease On Life was their first collaboration, a 32-page graphic novel published in 2014, which won the inaugural Carousel Aware Cap4Indies Best Young Adult Book award in 2016.

Cerberus’ New Trick, whilst not a direct sequel, does carry over some of the characters, themes, and humour of the first book.
Brendan and Fiona held a Kickstarter campaign for their new book. This platform enables independent creators to produce and publish their work via a crowdfunding campaign for a fixed period.
Fiona said: “The book is currently available on my website for pre-order at https://www.boniwellgraphics.com/art-store/cerberus-new-trick
“Once it is printed, I will approach local bookstores in Cork with an invitation to stock it.”
