The Metropole Hotel is celebrating female friendships with a Galentine’s inspired afternoon tea for the month of February.

Located in the VQ in the heart of Cork city the team of chefs have designed a special menu using locally sourced ingredients.

Included in the sweet and savoury dishes are red velvet berry iced muffins, caprese made with Macroom mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil pesto on sourdough, and Ardsallagh goat’s cheese and balsamic raspberry bruschetta. The Metropole Hotels works with local growers and producers to ensure the freshest ingredients are used in every dish.

Pierce Lowney, Director of Food and Beverage at The Metropole Hotel said: “February is a time to celebrate romance but it’s important to mark the friendships in our lives which is why we love Galentine’s here at the Metropole Hotel.

“It’s an excuse to grab your gal pals for an afternoon of shopping in Cork city before coming to the Metropole Hotel to enjoy a specially designed afternoon tea while relaxing in our Tea Room.”

The afternoon tea will be served from 1pm to 4pm daily and booking online is essential to ensure place.

The menu includes classic vanilla choux bun, Red Velvet Berry Iced Muffins, caprese Macroom mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and Basil Pesto on Sourdough.

The afternoon tea is €40 per person and the menu can be found at: https://www.themetropolehotel.ie/dining/the-met-cork/afternoon-tea.
