Trigon Hotels names one of Ireland's Menopause Workplaces of Excellence

Strategic Director of HR at Trigon Hotels, Kathleen Linehan, and Loretta Dignam, CEO of The Menopause Hub., as Trigon Hotels was named as one of Ireland's Menopause Workplaces of Excellence.

Trigon Hotels has been named as one of Ireland’s Menopause Workplaces of Excellence in 2024.

The accolade recognises organisations which have committed to supporting women experiencing the often challenging symptoms of menopause.

This is the second year of the awards by the Menopause Hub Academy and Great Place to Work Ireland.

Companies were awarded for their innovative policies that address the difficulties many women face during menopause.

The awards also raised awareness of the impact of the menopause on mental health, focus, and productivity and how vital it is for businesses to support their employees through this life stage.

Trigon Hotels, which includes the Metropole Hotel and Cork International Hotel, was one of the first hotel groups to introduce a menopause policy last year.

The strategy was based on the findings of a workplace audit which resulted in menopause training for all senior teams.

Strategic Director of HR at Trigon Hotels, Kathleen Linehan said: “Trigon Hotels has shown what can be achieved with thoughtful policy-making but also the necessity of destigmatising conversations around menopause in the workplace.

“Our menopause training has been deemed by our senior teams as a real positive, as historically, hospitality may not be perceived as an industry that is known for supporting team members.

“The very fact that this has now become an open topic for discussion which was embraced by everyone across the group gave a real sense of pride amongst our teams.

“Now we have an environment where menopause is normalised, and our team members are being actively supported through difficult transitions in their lives.

“We have been overwhelmed with the uptake on our workvivo support hub and are delighted to be able to support so many people.”
