Jim Boyle appointed principal of North Monastery School

The board of management at North Monastery Co- Educational Secondary School has announced the appointment of Dr Jim Boyle (BSc, BCL, PhD) as principal.

He has been a teacher in the school since 1986 and deputy principal since 2007. He is a vastly experienced teacher and administrator having acted up as principal on numerous occasions.

Mr Boyle is also very active in the community being president of a local St Vincent De Paul group since 2019.

The school has had a very successful ASD Unit for a number of years and currently holds the Yellow Flag (cultural and religious inclusiveness) and Green Flag ( environmental awareness) awards.

A spokesperson for the board said: “The school has seen many changes over the years since its founding in 1811 but is looking forward to the coming year when we will welcome girls into the school for the first time.

“This is a very exciting time for the school and under Jim’s inspirational, transformative leadership we hope it will be a huge success.

“A number of projects were carried out in the school over the summer holidays; a total revamp of the central heating system and the fitting out of new Home Economics room.

“Among Jim’s priorities will be to continue to maintain and facilitate the highest standards of teaching and learning.

“He will also continue to liaise with all stakeholders including staff, parents, and the local community to ensure our school is responsive to the needs of our school community.

“We wish Jim and the school every success for the coming years.”
