In a statement from the Garda Press Office, a spokesperson said Gardaí were alerted to the incident involving a dog that occurred at a property in Glenfields Park on Friday evening.

A woman in her 30s suffered injuries described as “serious” after being attacked by a dog in the Glenfields Park on the northside of Cork city on Friday evening.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene in the Ballyvolane area.

The attack is believed to have occurred around 7.30pm on Friday evening.

In a statement from the Garda Press Office, a spokesperson said Gardaí were alerted to the incident involving a dog that occurred at a property in Glenfields Park on Friday evening.

“A woman, aged in her 30s, has been taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries,” the spokesperson said.

Gardaí confirmed that the dog involved in the attack was euthanised at the scene.
