Two units from Anglesea St and two from Mallow Fire Brigade attended the scene this afternoon, along with Gardaí and crews from the National Ambulance Service.

The body of a man was discovered in a burning vehicle on the northside of Cork city this afternoon. Two units from Anglesea St and two from Mallow Fire Brigade attended the scene along with Gardaí and crews from the National Ambulance Service. 

The body of a man was discovered in a burning vehicle on the outskirts of Cork city this afternoon.

Cork City Fire Brigade received a call about a car on fire in the Whitechurch area shortly before 2.30pm today.

Two units from Anglesea St and two from Mallow Fire Brigade attended the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze.

The body of a man was found in the driver’s seat of the car. He was found to be deceased.

Crews from the National Ambulance Service and Gardaí also attended the scene and the road was closed off.
