A unit of Cork City Fire Brigade was called to Cork Airport tonight after a Jet2 plane was diverted there because a passenger was taken ill on board.

A unit of Cork City Fire Brigade was called to Cork Airport tonight after a Jet2 plane was diverted there because a passenger was taken ill on board.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Cork Airport said: “A Jet2 flight from Tenerife to Manchester diverted to Cork Airport this evening due to a medical emergency on board.

“Cork Airport Police & Fire Service were on hand to render assistance. We will not be commenting further at this time.”
