Brian Kennedy celebrates his last round of Chemotherapy

Brian Kennedy has taken to his social media platforms to celebrate his last round of Chemotherapy.

The singer was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2016 and broke the news to fans live on radio.

In November, the Belfast native underwent a nine-hour surgery in a London hospital to have his colon, rectum and prostate removed.

As a result of the procedure, Kennedy carries a colostomy and urostomy bag, attached to his stomach.

“Hard to believe that today is my last chemo session after 5 months,” he captioned a photo of his hospital documentation.

I wear the little pump until weds then I’m done done

He went on to thank the team at St James’ Hospital, Dublin and gush about how lucky and grateful he feels to make it through the last three years.

Looking forward to the day he is able to get back up on stage, he said:

"Singing and gigging mean more to me than ever. Here’s to the next one! #Musicismedicine"
