Whether you need a mystery-fueled drama series or a laid back comedy, Netflix has you covered with a wide variety of brand new films and TV shows this May.

Here's a peek at what's to come this May:

Wine Country

Starring Amy Poehler (who also directs it), Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph

With this star-studded female cast, 'Wine Country' ticks all the comedy boxes.

Plot: In honor of Rebecca's 50th birthday, Abby plans a scenic Napa getaway with their best, longtime friends.

Yet as the alcohol flows, real world uncertainties intrude on the punchlines and gossip, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures. Available to stream May 10.

The Last Summer

Starring Riverdale's K.J. Appa and The Fosters' Maia Mitchell, The Last Summer is out just in time to get you in the summer mood.

Plot: Standing on the precipice of adulthood, a group of friends navigate new relationships, while reexamining others, during their final summer before college.

Starring Renée Zellweger

In this neo-noir thriller series, a pair of cash-strapped newlyweds accept a lucrative but morally dubious offer from a mysterious female benefactor.

Knock Down the House

Knock Down the House is one of Netflix's latest documentaries and winner of the Sundance Film Festival's 'Festival Favourite Audience Award'.

It follows the stories of four inspiring women, including Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who took on history in the 2018 mid-term election. It's out May 1.

The Great Gatsby

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

Plot: Midwest native Nick Carraway arrives in 1922 New York in search of the American dream, but gets wrapped up in a bigger story when he gets to know the mysterious millionaire next door, Jay Gatsby.

Based on F.Scott's Fitzgerald's novel of the same name, The Great Gatsby comes to Netflix on May 1.

Derry Girls

Starring Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Nicola Coughlan and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell.

If you haven't already seen the critically acclaimed comedy set in 1990s Northern Ireland, now's your chance.

The show recently won a BAFTA for Best Scripted Comedy and took home both the Best Writer (Comedy) and Best Scripted Comedy awards at the Royal Television Society Awards.

Plot: The show follows Erin, Michelle, Orla, Clare and James as they grow up in the midst of the Troubles, attempting to navigate the highs and lows of being teenagers.

The Railway Man

Starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman and Jeremy Irvine.

Based on his best-selling memoir, The Railway Man tells the extraordinary and epic true story of Eric Lomax, a British Army officer who is tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labour camp during World War II. Available to stream May 1.

The Fate of the Furious

Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Stathan and Michelle Rodriguez.

The eighth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise, The Fate of the Furious is the first since the death of actor Paul Walker.

The film follows Dominic Toretto, who has settled down with his wife Letty Ortiz, until cyberterrorist Cipher coerces him into working for her and turns him against his team, forcing them to find Dom and take down Cipher.
