Family say his killer Christina Anderson gave her victim no chance and destroyed their lives.

This morning lawyers in the case revealed that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has spent this week considering a plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The jury has previously heard that an issue in the trial is whether Ms Anderson's actions when she repeatedly stabbed Gareth Kelly as he tried to start his car outside her home were driven by mental illness or by cannabis intoxication

Christina Anderson has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity

A neighbour of the accused gave evidence that two days prior to the stabbing, he received a message from Ms Anderson telling him: "Run, your lives are in danger!"
