The Gables is home to the “Trad Session” for over 30 years. The session has been visited by travelling musicians from far and wide with many diverse cultures.
Ruairí de Leastar has performed countless gigs in various forms of bands, duos or solo acts over the last 15 years. Having shared the stage with acts such as foy Vance, Duke special, Lisa hannigan & Jerry fish, he has been learning from the best and honing his own style. The Watermelons are a four piece blues band based in Cork. With a line up, consisting of drums, bass , guitar and sax, the band boasts some of corks finest musicians. The set journeys from Chicago blues to blues-rock containing blistering tracks from Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, The Allman Brothers, Junior Wells, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendric etc.
