Cory Wong of US funk sensation Vulfpeck visits Cork with his new album ‘The Optimist’. The Minneapolis-based musician has put in his time as a versatile composer, arranger, producer, and collaborator. He has also worked on shows and artists like NBC’s “The Voice,” playing alongside Ben Rector, Gene Simmons, Questlove, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Bootsy Collins. His expert playing and diverse influences have kept him in demand around the world and around the clock, but he remains loyal to his Midwestern home.
Hot Blooded Animals are one of The Oliver Plunketts favourite cover bands. A real good-time classic rock group with years of experience of playing both nationally and internationally and are armed with a jukebox sized catalogue of tunes that are all performed with plenty of gusto.
Tim Mullane has been wowing audiences for many years now, an energetic and very accomplished musician he has been known to cover everything from Neil Young to the Bee Gees and everything in between.
Upstairs at the Oliver Plunkets 'Frisky Whiskey' bar 'Ceol Coolroe' will be playing. The Traditional Irish Music Session is sure to be full of "ceol agus craic".
Upstairs at The Frisky Irish Whiskey bar - Clann Eireann is a traditional Irish folk/ballad band from Cork city that plays songs of culture, resistance, history and of course peace and reconciliation.
Bluemoose are constantly on tour, both at home and in the UK, bringing their energetic and entertaining live show to thousands of frantic spectators, through an average of 240 shows annually. Consisting of four experienced professional musicians from various parts of Ireland, the cover band based out of Wexford, have been performing at some of Ireland's highest profile events, headlining and also sharing stages with some top name chart acts both at home and abroad.
The Ill Winds are a three-piece “traditional meets contemporary” band, based in Cork City. The band have become known for combining old with new, classic with modern, all with a signature Irish twist. The group consists of Michael Grace (vocals, guitar, percussion, mandolin), Tony Dunne (accordion, percussion, vocals) and Paul O’Shea (drums, vocals, percussion, mandolin).
The Hecklin’ Dogs are a Cork city bases four piece rhythm and blues/rock and roll outfit featuring Robbie Barron and Declan Hogge on guitars and vocals, Brian Hennessy on bass and John Quirke on drums. The band covers a wide range of good time rocking hits from Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Peter Green, The Beatles and many more.
The Lee Sessions is the umbrella term for all authentic, traditional Irish music sessions in Cork city.
Supported by Cork City Council, this trad session series runs all year round, and features world-class musicians and singers, in Cork's most iconic bars.

Every Friday at City Limits /The Comedy Club is Funny Fridays, it features some of the best new acts and up and coming acts. Guests feature, Denis Len, Mark O'Keeffe, Roger O'Sullivan and guests.
This exhibition will contain two bodies of work by Cork based artist Sandra Hickey. The first style of work is inspired by her time working on Oscar nominated Loving Vincent, where she and 124 artists hand painted over 65,000 frames in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. The second body of work is a style Hickey has been developing for years and was making in the lead up to Loving Vincent.
The Asylum Archive is an art, activist and academic platform that examines the notion of Direct Provision Centres; the localities and sites where asylum seekers are being held while in the process of seeking refugee status. It is the continuation of Vukašin Nedeljković’s ongoing work highlighting the injustices, confinement and incarceration of asylum seekers in Ireland.
