A candlelit, stove side trad session, musical bingo and a rock quartet are just some of the gigs on in Cork tonight.


Brú Bar & Hostel, 57 MacCurtain St. Vegan Mattie & The Tank Show 9pm, adm free

Vegan Mattie & The Tank Show are a four piece instrumental jazz-fusion band from Cork. The members have being playing consistently with each other in various projects for years so expect a free-flowing, gun-showing gig with music from artists such as Snarky Puppy, Chic Correa, George Benson and many more.

The Welcome Inn, Parnell Place Leif 9.30pm, adm free

Leif comprise of Eoin O’Brien and Conor O’Sullivan, two of Corks finest musicians. They will take you on an eclectic journey through some of Ireland's finest tunes and ballads. A candlelit, stove side trad session that really has to be seen to be believed. Locals and staff have even been known to get involved and give a blast!

A Rock quartet covering a repatour stretching all the way back to the Psychadelic 60s through Rock n Roll punk funk grunge Rock to present day.

The Lee Sessions is the umbrella term for all authentic, traditional Irish music sessions in Cork city. Supported by Cork City Council, this trad session series runs all year round, and features world-class musicians and singers, in Cork's most iconic bars.

These renowned sessions, which enhance Cork's reputation as THE traditional music capital, are an absolute must-see, for locals and visitors alike! This brilliant session, featuring some of the country’s finest traditional musicians, takes place in the The Oliver Plunkett, one of Cork's biggest trad music venues.


Triskel Arts Centre, Tobin St. Sandra Hickey – Where Two Styles Meet – Loving Vincent Inspired 10 am, adm free 

This exhibition will contain two bodies of work by Cork Cork-based Sandra Hickey. The first style of work is inspired by her time working on Oscar nominated Loving Vincent, where she and 124 artists hand painted over 65,000 frames in the style of Vincent Van Gogh.  The second body of work is a style Hickey has been developing for years and was making in the lead up to Loving Vincent.

Triskel Arts Centre, Tobin St. Asylum Archive – Vukašin Nedeljković 10 am, adm free

The Asylum Archive is an art, activist and academic platform that examines the notion of Direct Provision Centres; the localities and sites where asylum seekers are being held while in the process of seeking refugee status.
