The Boogie Band have quickly established themselves as an exciting live act and gained a large following throughout Munster. The Boogie Band specialise in providing 100% live music entertainment for weddings and corporate events. They have become one of the most reputable and sought-after bands from the Cork area.

Dwyers Of Cork, 28 Washington St. The Old Moderns 10.30pm, adm free

The Old Moderns are a high energy five piece band who have played in many different countries in various bands, from weddings to festivals, private functions, birthday parties, college balls to pubs you name it, they have played it!

Coughlan's, Douglas St. Cyprus Avenue Presents Thanks Brother 9pm, adm €10

Cyprus Avenue presents Thanks Brother, the grit-pop duo, who release their first single of 2019, ‘We Caught It’, in January. This is the second single from the pair, following 2018’s ‘We Are Different’ which saw the band playlisted on national radio and perform live on The Late Late Show and The Today Show and followed on with sold out shows in Dublin and Paris.

This year, as part of the 9th annual LGBTI Awareness Week, they are delighted to present a screening of the historical comedy-drama The Favourite. Join them for a wine reception from 6.30pm followed by a screening of the Oscar-winning film at 7pm. The Favourite is set in the early 18th century when England is at war with the French. A frail Queen Anne occupies the throne, and her close friend, Lady Sarah, governs the country in her stead, while tending to Anne’s ill health and mercurial temper. When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, and Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots.
