CARRIGALINE captured the Oriel House Hotel U13 Cup in Turners Cross last Thursday evening following a 5-4 penalty shoot out after both sides finished 2-2 after regulation and extra time, but were fortunate by scoring a late, late equaliser in the 63rd minute to steal the game away from Douglas Hall.

Douglas Hall took the lead in the 44th minute from keeper Ryan’s kick out which went to Colin Henderson and his long pass found Kumanzembee who goaled from the edge of the area. Carrigaline were looking for the equaliser and it came in dramatic fashion in the third minute of extra time when a free kick for Carrigaline 30 yards out was guided in from a packed six-yard box by Jamie Moore forcing an extra 20 minutes of play.

Extra time proved inconclusive with neither team creating clear cut chances as the penalty shootout loomed with Carrigaline eventually taking the honours 5-4.
