WATCH: First-half blitz enough for Greenwood in U16 cup decider

Greenwood 3 Carrigaline 1
TWO goals in the first 12 minutes of the game gave Greenwood a comfortable cushion against Carrigaline in the Joma Adrian Ryan Sportsgear Direct U16 Cup Final which was played in Turner's Cross last Wednesday evening, as the game finished 3-1 in their favour after 80 minutes.
The game was only five minutes old when a period of Greenwood pressure resulted in a goal from Aaron Walsh from the edge of the area. Greenwood doubled their score in the 12th minute, a wonderful 25-yard free kick from Ethan Varian.
Greenwood were 3-0 up in the 37th minute Oyeme Ayere meeting Oran Daly’s cross on the far side and nodded the ball into the bottom corner.
Three minutes later Carrigaline were given a lifeline when Dylan O’Flaherty side-footed the ball into the net from a cross on the far side from six yards as the half came to a close, but they couldn't get the second they needed to really up the pressure.
