Sarsfields 3-8 Glen Rovers 0-3

TWO goals in a minute turned the Evening Echo Premier 1 Féile hurling final in Sarsfields' favour against the Glen.

Up to that point, there was little between the sides, but the goals were always going to be hard to come back from and it saw Sars well in control by half-time.

Overall they were the better side and had a number of outstanding displays, from the likes of Flynn O'Brien, Darragh Murray, Cillian McCarthy, James Crowley and Darragh Long.

Long was their stand-out player and as well as scoring five points he was instrumental in many of their attacking moves. The corner-forward also wasn't afraid to tackle back and had there been a Man of the Match award he would have been taking it home.

The semi-finals were played on the night as well and Sars got the better of Ballincollig in their semi-final, by 1-7 to 0-5, a game they never looked in any real trouble in.

The Glen can't be faulted for their efforts and a tough semi-final against the Barrs, just before the final, probably took a lot of their energy. They came through that by 2-8 to 3-4 in another quality tie. The likes of Jack Kenefick, Micky Ring, Ben O'Connell and Calvin O'Donoghue were the pick of their side.

Sars and the Barrs had emerged last weekend from a group that also featured Douglas and Valley Rovers, while Ballincollig and the Glen had seen off Blackrock and Midleton.
