FORMER Munster women’s rugby coach Wayne Falvey has been appointed in a high-profile role as a rugby business consultant tasked with growing the game in the United States.
Falvey, who started out playing rugby for Ballincollig RFC, is well known on Leeside for his playing stints with his local club, UCC, Clonakilty and Highfield, while he is currently working as marketing manager at the Mardyke Arena.
His new appointment as business consultant with Positively Rugby will see him help develop the game in the US. During a previous stint across the Atlantic, Falvey played for Mystic River Rugby Club in the Massachusetts area.
He is a World Rugby Level 3 accredited coach and also an accredited IRFU Tutor, and while in charge of the Munster women’s team, led the provincial side to back to back success.
“I’m extremely passionate about rugby and this role allows me to assist with the growth of the game, not only through coaching but also through my experience in marketing, sponsorship and events,” said Falvey.
