CBC claimed their second Munster Schools Junior Cup in three seasons and their third in six after a dramatic 21-19 win over the holders Crescent College Comprehensive at Musgrave Park.

Tries from Ronan O’Sullivan (2) and Finn MacFhlannchadha, all converted by George Coomber, helped Christians to an 18th title success.

O’Sullivan crossed for the equalising try near the end to level at 19-19 before a nerveless Coomber landed the conversion to spark wild celebrations.

It was a special afternoon for vice-captain Mark Donnelly, who played in his third final, having been on the team which drew with Crescent before losing the replay last season.

Christians’ victory means both senior and junior cups rest on Leeside for the first time since 2009 after PBC won the senior cup against Glenstal Abbey at Thomond Park on St Patrick’s Day.
