PETER Stringer is to team-up with former Munster and Ireland colleague, Donncha O'Callaghan, at English Premiership club, Worcester Warriors, next season.
The remarkable 39-years-old Corkman will join as scrum-half cover for Francois Hougaard, who will be on international duty with South Africa during the start of the new campaign.
Stringer, who has signed a six-month contract, and O'Callaghan will face their former Munster colleagues in a pre-season friendly at the end of next month at their Sixways home.
Worcester Director of Rugby, Gary Gold, is impressed by Stringer's fitness levels.
“He's in incredible physical shape for someone of 39 years of age,” Gold told the club website.
“Peter is an outstanding role model for our younger players,” he added.
Stringer is also quoted on the site. “I'm feeling as fit and ready as ever. I'm genuinely excited about getting back on the field as I feel I still have plenty to offer.
“I'm looking forward to meeting all the lads and being re-united with Donncha,” he said.
Stringer signed from Sale Sharks, having previously played in England with Saracens, Newcastle Falcons and Bath.
