MUNSTER boss Johann van Graan will be keeping his fingers crossed that he picks up no new injuries tonight in their PRO14 game against the Toyota Cheetahs in Bloomfontein, which is live on Sky Sports Mix from 6.30pm.
He has recalled his big guns for this vital clash ahead of the following weekend’s European Champions Cup semi-final in Bordeaux.
This clash is also very important to the province who have already guaranteed themselves a place in the knockout stages of the competition. A win tonight would ensure they get a home quarter-final.
Van Graan has made nine changes to the side with Simon Zebo, Andrew Conway and Darren Sweetnam starting as the back three.
Some eyebrows have been raised with his call at number 10 with JJ Hanrahan starting at out-half. Ian Keatley is on the bench and van Graan will try to leave him there as long as possible to rest one of the players with the highest amount of minutes played this season.
Captain Peter O’Mahony also returns to the side as part of a strong back-row with Jack O’Donoghue and Robin Copeland.
Munster, for the second week in a row, name an all-Cork starting front-row with Brian Scott starting at loosehead, Niall Scannell at number two and John Ryan starting at tighthead.
With one eye on the trip to France but another on player welfare, van Graan has named what will probably be his starting front row in France on the bench with Keatley, Rory Scannell and Conor Murray also among the subs.
