CORK City might have been disappointed to miss out on the major trophies on the field this season but their off-the-field efforts were recognised yesterday.
The Rebel Army collected three of the seven SSE Airtricity League Club Awards.
Now in its second year, the awards recognise, support and encourage each club in the Premier and First Division to strive in their efforts to excel off the pitch as much as they do on it.
Cork City were the big winners at the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge, picking up three awards, including the prestigious SSE Airtricity League Club of the Season Award for the second year in a row.
They were honoured for having the ‘best match day experience’ and being the Multimedia Club of the Year. City were commended in another three categories.
This year’s Awards saw a record number of entries in six categories, while the SSE Airtricity League Club of the Season was chosen by a judging panel based on entries across all awards.
