WEST Cork’s Fineen Wycherley gets his chance to put his hand up for European selection at the end of March as he starts today’s game against Dragons at Rodney Parade.

Munster coach Johann van Graan has made 13 changes to his starting line-up with Wycherley, Tyler Bleyendaal who captains the team, Dan Goggin, Rhys Marshall, Stephen Archer also getting their opportunities to impress.

Bleyendaal also captains the side.

Full-back Mike Haley and second-row Jean Kleyn starters from the side that pipped Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

Ballyvolane’s Liam O’Connor is in line to make his first appearance of the season off the bench having recovered from a long-term knee injury suffered at Musgrave Park in December 2017 against Ospreys.

It has been a long and hard road back for the Corkman but that should be put behind him today as Munster bid to stay in pole spot in Conference A of the PRO14 before they take a two-week break from action.

He will be hoping to impress coach van Graan enough to put him ahead of Jeremy Loughman in the pecking order when it comes to the European game.

O’Connor is joined on the bench by fellow Corkonians Kevin O’Byrne and Darren O’Shea.

Another player who will be pleased to get game time is former Cork hurler Darren Sweetnam who is named in the back three alongside Haley and Ronan O’Mahony.

MUNSTER: M Haley; D Sweetnam, D Goggin, T Bleyendaal capt, R O’Mahony; B Johnston, A Mathewson; J Loughman, R Marshall, S Archer, J Kleyn, B Holland, F Wycherley, C Oliver, A Botha. Replacements – K O’Byrne, L O’Connor, C Parker, D O’Shea, G Coombes, N Cronin, C Nash, J Taute.
