BANDON’S Conor Hourihane was in midfield for Aston Villa last night in a sensational clash with Nottingham Forest.

Tammy Abraham grabbed four goals for Villa in a dramatic 5-5 Sky Bet Championship draw against 10-man Forest.

Forest, though, deserved a point from the 10-goal thriller to take them into the top six after a spectacular display of attacking football. Villa had been on a high after last weekend’s derby win over Birmingham City, where Hourihane’s clever passing was a notable feature of the 4-2 victory, but couldn’t follow up with another victory.

To their credit Forest were always on the front foot and set the tone of the game with goals from Lewis Grabban and Jose Carvalho in the opening six minutes.

The goal of the game came in the 51st minute from Joe Lolley with a superb shot from 35 yards that spectacularly whistled into the net.

Meanwhile, the night before, former Ringmahon and Cork City playmaker Alan Browne was hit the net for Preston North End in a 1-1 draw with high-flying Middlesborough.

Browne had already struck last weekend when Preston beat Lancashire rivals Blackburn 4-1, bouncing back after being dropped for the previous league game. The 23-year-old has six goals from midfield for Preston this season to date.
