Dwyer is rewarded for her consistent brilliance with Fr Mathew's

GRÁINNE Dwyer has been honoured at the Basketball Ireland Players and Coaches of the Month awards for February.

The Tipp native has excelled for Fr Mathew's as they showed their class in Women's Super League following a disappointing exit to Brunell in the National Cup.

Claire Rockall, another former Glanmire ace, was picked as the Division 1 Southern Conference Player of the Month for her sustained excellence with Maree.

Ex-UCC Demons and Neptune head honcho Pat Price was given the nod as the Men's Super League Coach of the Month with Garvey's Tralee Warriors. 

Their star guard, Paul Dick, picking up another Player of the Month award.

Pyrobel Killester head coach, Karl Kilbride, has won the Women's Super League Coach of the Month award following a hugely successful month with the team.

In the Men’s Division 1 Northern Conference, the unbeaten DBS Éanna have picked up both awards for the month following another superb month, with Stefan Zecevic winning the Player of the Month and head coach, Darren McGovern winning the Coach of the Month award yet again. 

In the Men’s Division 1 Southern Conference meanwhile it’s also a double win, this time for WIT Vikings, with Daniel Noe winning the Player of the Month award and head coach, Mick Evans, winning the Coach of the Month award after a great run of games throughout the month.

In the Women’s Division 1 Northern Conference, stand out performances from Adiyah Henderson of Fabplus North West sees her win the Player of the Month award, while head coach of Trinity Meteors, Vinny O’Keeffe has won the Coach of the Month award. 

Finally, in the Women’s Division 1 Southern Conference, league champions, Maree, have scooped both awards yet again, with through Rockall, and head coach, Joe Shields.
