UCC collected 14 All-Star awards after Fitzgibbon and Sigerson double

EIGHT UCC hurlers have been named on the Fitzgibbon Cup All-Stars hurling team for 2018, while six footballers have also been honoured on the Sigerson Cup All-Star team.

There are four Cork representatives on the hurling team: current star Shane Kingston, Niall O’Leary, who was recently drafted into the Cork squad, Eddie Gunning from Na Piarsaigh and Chris O’Leary, who is also on the Cork squad.
The other hurling recipients are Tipperary’s Mark Kehoe, Kilkenny’s Conor Browne, Kerry’s Shane Conway and Limerick’s Paddy O’Loughlin.
On the football team, there are five Kerry players, Brian Beaglaoich, Daniel O’Brien, Sean O’Shea, Padraigh Lucey, Graham O’Sullivan with Cian Kiely from Ballincollig representing Cork on the selection.
The Hurler of the Year award went to Shane Conway, while Sean O’Shea was the Footballer of the Year, both are natives of Kerry.
The awards were presented at a function in UCC on Monday night.
