THE latest winner of the Echo Fan of The Match Award is Farranree native Luke O’Driscoll.

Luke was a guest of the club at Sunday’s draw with Shamrock Rovers at Turner’s Cross and no doubt will be back at the venue tonight as the Rebel Army take on St Patrick’s Athletic in a televised clash (kick-off 8pm).

As well as playing football and attending City games, Luke enjoys rugby and goes to Munster and Ireland matches with his uncle.

His favourite City player is Mark O’Sullivan and he rates the 2016 FAI Cup final, in which City beat Dundalk to lay the groundwork for the 2017 double season, as his most enjoyable game.

Colin Healy’s injury-time bicycle kick against St Patrick’s Athletic in 2014 is the goal Luke rates above all others and he would choose Mark McNulty, Conor McCarthy, Dan Casey and Gearóid Morrissey alongside himself on a dream five-a-side team.

As to why he loves City, he says it’s because it’s his local team and he appreciates the fact that all are welcome and there is a family-friendly atmosphere. He loves how the team play for the love of the game and how the players always make time for their fans.
