SEAN O'DONOGHUE: Couldn't handle the trickery of Richie Hogan. More damaging to the cause was his poor use of possession. Not the only offender though. 5

EOIN CADOGAN: Cork's best defender. While Colin Fennelly got a goal, Cadogan burst out with a succession of balls and was fouled three times. Set up a couple of points too. 8

NIALL O'LEARY: Wearing number five but man-marking Adrian Mullen for long spells. He did quite well in that regard but again his distribution was a problem. 6

MARK ELLIS: Pushed out to the wing to facilitate Stephen McDonnell's role tracking TJ Reid. Like the rest of his team-mates, the issue was sloppy passing. Cork paid a heavy price. 5

STEPHEN MCDONNELL: Held TJ Reid scoreless from play, though he was forced into conceding fouls to halt the Cats' talisman. 6

MARK COLEMAN: Nailed a long-range point after a terrific run but Cork couldn't get him on the front foot. Should have been better used as a ball-carrier. 6

BILL COOPER: Withdrawn through injury, he had a good first half but never got going again after the break. 5

DARRAGH FITZGIBBON: Assisted Horgan's second goal and clipped a late point but was out of the game for long spells. 5

LUKE MEADE: Got his hands on the sliotar sitting deep but didn't use it well enough, including a sloppy first-half wide. 5

CONOR LEHANE: Looked well off the pace, though he was tearing away for goal when a free was called against Harnedy. Sliced a couple of efforts off target. 5

DANIEL KEARNEY: When he goes well, so do Cork. Hoovered up a few breaks but Conor Fogarty dogged him all over the pitch. 5

SEAMUS HARNEDY: Hit 0-2, fouled for three frees, and was a primary ball-winner when no one else could secure puck-outs. Finished with free wides too. 7

PATRICK HORGAN: Electric any time the sliotar landed in his vicinity. His two goals from play were breathtaking and his penalty sensational. 3-10 yet ended up on the losing team. Cruel. 10

ALAN CADOGAN: The Kilkenny's backs couldn't live with his pace and he landed 0-4 as well as getting fouled three times. Denied a goal by Eoin Murphy's reflexes. 9

SUBS: Robbie O'Flynn 5, Tim O'Mahony 7, Shane Kingston 5, Chris Joyce 5, Damien Cahalane 6.
