ON Saturday last a fun Inter-Firm Dragon Boat Challenge took place on the Lee.
Rowers gathered for the event at Lapp’s Quay, and it didn’t disappoint.
Work colleagues stepped aboard the 40ft Dragon Boats, and threw down the challenges to other firms to come and take them on.
The event takes place twice a year, and some of the biggest companies in the city take part in the challenge, with hundreds getting in on the action. There was some great racing, great fun and great entertainment afterwards.
The event is a fundraiser for Meitheal Mara, a community boatyard, local charity and training centre, which is based in the heart of Cork City. And they are ready to hear from you if you are interested in taking part in next year’s event, which will fill up quickly.
