MUNSTER have secured a high-profile signing, fresh from collecting the World Cup with South Africa last weekend.

The Irish Times have confirmed the recruitment of centre Damian de Allende, who was a key figure for the Springboks in upsetting the odds in Japan.

He has agreed to a two-year deal with the Reds, who had a strong connection to South Africa's victory given former Munster boss Rassie Erasmus was at the helm, with Jaques Nienaber, Aled Walters and Felix Jones in the backroom.

De Allende, aged 27, will follow in the footsteps of South African Jean de Villiers, one of Munster's more successful overseas imports.
