Watch: The Echo Women in Sport awards celebrate Cork's brilliant athletes

THE 13th annual Echo Women in Sport awards was held at the Cork Airport Hotel to honour the most impressive female athletes from Leeside in 2019.

Brilliant boxer Christina Desmond collected the overall prize, with rower Sanita Puspure recognised for her sustained success and Shelia Golden entering the Hall of Fame after a lifetime of service to Cork camogie. 

Olympian Jessie Barr was the guest of honour, where she gave an insight into mental preparation for elite athletes.
