BALLINCOLLIG basketball sensation Andre Nation has picked up another Player of the Month award.

The talented American was recognised by Basketball Ireland for the second month running, after his top-class displays on the hardwood in the Hula Hoops President's Cup semi-final and final saw Tradehouse Central Ballincollig lift the trophy for the third year in a row.

Nation was also honoured with three Player of the Month gongs in the 2018-'19 campaign, while he was picked as the MVP after over-time cup thriller against IT Carlow. Ciarán O'Sullivan was the Player of the Month earlier this season and coach Kieran O'Sullivan also received an award for guiding the Village to the top of the Division 1 table.

They are currently unbeaten and are four wins clear of second-placed Killarney with six games remaining. Ballincollig can take another major step towards promotion to the Super League by beating Carlow again on the road this weekend.

Tradehouse Central have some tricky ties ahead, away to LYIT Donegal and Fr Mathew's, and their squad has suffered a couple of injury blows to veterans Ian McLoughlin and Daniel O'Sullivan.

Powered by Nation, Ciarán O'Sullivan, Inigio Zabola, Dylan Corkery and Ronan O'Sullivan, the Collig's starting five is the best in the division and once they keep their focus it's hard to see them being stopped.
