CBC will be favourites to land the schools junior cup

Christian Brothers College advanced to the final of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup with a blistering display against Crescent College Comprehensive at Musgrave Park.
They will now face St Munchin’s in the decider in Limerick and on this performance will be hot favourites to regain the trophy.
Christians looked dangerous in the opening stages especially their back line with out-half Ben Lynch, Matthew O’Callaghan and Billy Kingston all making telling runs.
O’Callaghan was very close to opening the scoring when following a break and kick ahead he knocked on with the line at his mercy.
Play was brought back for a Christians penalty which they opted for touch. From the line out they mauled over the line with David Novak touching down.

Christians backs were rampant and on eleven minutes it was 12-0 when hooker Adam Wrona crossing the line and Lynch added the extras.
A great break by Dan Lucey who linked up with O’Callaghan to score Christians third try to make it 17-0.
Crescent finished the half the stronger and were rewarded in added time with a try from Lee O’Grady which Ciaran Campbell converted to leave the Cork school 17-7 ahead at the interval.
It was game on after forty one minutes when Crescent pressure was rewarded with a try from Anthony O’Connor and Campbell converted.
Christians response was swift when from a line out in the Crescent Twenty Two Lynch found a gap to send O’Callaghan in for a try which Lynch converted for a 24-14 lead.
Good advantage saw Johnny O’Shea get in for Christians fifth try on forty nine minutes.

Crescent to their credit threw the ball around but solid defending prevented them from scoring,
Another great Christians move saw Billy Kingston score in the corner with two minutes remaining to make the final score 34-14.
