COBH RAMBLERS have hit out after groups of teenagers gained access to their St Colman’s Park grounds in recent nights.

The club is furious that in the current Coronavirus crisis teenagers are out in groups flouting social-distancing advice and accessing their facilities to do so.

A Cobh Ramblers statement on the matter read: “It has come to our attention that groups of teenagers have been gaining access to the club grounds the last number of nights.

"This morning (Sunday) club officials arrived at the ground to find the main gate forced open.

“It’s beyond belief that given the current Covid 19 pandemic that individuals can be so stupid and ignorant toward the plight that the world currently faces.

“By congregating in large numbers, you are not only putting your own health at risk but you are also putting the health and well-being of your friends and family at risk.

“Social Distancing is a small ask from health officials.

"The more we adhere to it, the quicker we can get back to living our normal lives and playing sport.

"If you have any respect for the work that is currently going on in our hospitals then please STAY HOME AND SAVE LIVES.”
